It is a momentous event for a working student to celebrate his “Graduation Day” as he was working so hard to achieve his goal: To be a college graduate!
Usually, after the ceremony, the family would gather together to find a fancy restaurant or prepare a buffet spread at home to celebrate.
But a viral Facebook post by “Sulit De-senyo” showed a picture of a father who was asking forgiveness for not preparing even a simple celebration, after all the sacrifices his son went through to finish his studies.
His son’s name is Jay-ar Cañete Pangan from Butuan City, who worked as a service crew at “Chowking” Gaisano Butuan City. He was studying in college while at the same time was working as service crew to help him fund his studies. With perseverance and hard work, all his sacrifices paid off after receiving his diploma on graduation day.
Instead of being disappointed with his father, it was not important for him to have any kind of celebration because graduating from college is what was more important to him. His diploma served to prove that despite poverty, he was able to finish his studies.
After graduating from college, he aims to give his family a better life by looking for a job that would help his father, in return for his father’s sacrifices for him.
Their father and son conversation, as written on the caption has melted the heart of the netizens, as it garnered 4 thousand reactions and more than a thousand shares.
