People in China are taking gutter oil from the sewers and using it for cooking

You just might never realize the difference between this dangerous oil and the real cooking oil – and end up ingesting something that could potentially be laced with deadly chemicals.

What makes this gutter oil quite popular among restaurant owners is that it only costs around $940 a ton while the never-been-used commercial grade oil costs around $1500 a ton. No wonder these unscrupulous restaurant owners have no qualms of buying the cheaper but possibly dangerous gutter oil.

The Chinese government has initiated a crackdown on these illegal gutter oil vendors and manufacturers. Alarming statistics show that as many as “one out of every ten lower market meals consumed in China are cooked using gutter oil.”

So the next time you are in China, make sure to eat only at places where you are sure the food is clean and cooked using clean utensils and ingredients. You might think you’re getting a cheap meal, but the effects on your body can cost you so much more.
