What are these egg-like forms in ready-to-drink Milo?

Netizen Rissa Gabriel Zaragoza shared her experience on Facebook when they opened a tetra pak of ready-to-drink Milo after her son almost vomited and complained of the taste. Her seven-year-old son, after taking his first sip, immediately ran over to their sink to spit it out, saying, “Mommy, expired na ata! [Mommy, I think this is already expired!]”

Upon checking the expiration label on the container (which read December 5, 2015), Zaragoza ruled out the bad taste caused by expiration. She did notice, however, that the pack felt heavy so she opened it.

Zaragoza was horrified by the smell and sight of the milk inside. She described the smell as putrid and described the milk looking like it had small eggs stuck together in it. She was disgusted to find the caviar egg-like substance in a drink her son had partially consumed.

Zaragoza called the supermarket where she bought the item and hoped the report would reach Nestlé Philippines. She also posted a warning to other mothers to be careful when giving their children packaged food. Consumers trust large companies such as Nestlé to do quality controls on their products before putting them out in the market so this incident is particularly worrisome.

A similar incident also occurred in June when another netizen posted photos of their Milo drink which was rancid and had solid clumps inside the package. (Read more here.)

Nestlé through its PR Agency sent to The Dailypedia their statement regarding this earlier incident saying they “immediately got in touch with Mrs. [Piere] Mercado when she brought her complaint to our attention. We thank Mrs. Mercado for her cooperation and hope that we shall be able to address her concerns as soon as possible.” We hope Nestlé also releases a statement regarding this second issue.
