Woman almost beheaded in elevator accident

A gruesome elevator accident resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman in Zhejiang Province, China.

According to reports, the woman had tried to get into the elevator at the 16th floor of a residential building when the elevator malfunctioned. The doors closed shut, then the elevator car quickly ascended, leaving the woman’s body dangling on the 16th floor, while her head was dragged to the 17th.

The residential complex, built some time during the 90s, had repeatedly experienced problems prior to the horrible event. Residents complain that the doors do not shut properly. Elevators in the building had been shut down following the complaints, but management had issued notices that repairs had been done just at the end of last year.
