  • A netizen blasted a joke on a social media by saying “MGA BUTANG NGA LAMI PANITAN”
  • Honey Lou posted laughing at her post, which made a guy angry for not respecting someone’s tragic death
  • Accordingly, it should have been privately posted on their page, but then it was revealed publicly so she is not sorry for her reaction

A 16-year-old gal, Christine Silyan, was found dead on a vacant lot in Mahayhay, Barangay Bankal in Cebu. Her tragic death was merciless as her face had been ripped off, exposing her skull.

After the news spread out, a netizen blasted a joke on  social media by saying “MGA BUTANG NGA LAMI PANITAN” which meant “things that are satisfying to peel off.”

Out of the four pictures posted, what Honey Lou shared on Facebook included a picture of the victim with a caption – “Hahahahahaha” – as if she was not aware of the content.

A Twitter user @JohnArlo4 posted the screenshot photos of Honey Lou laughing at her post, which made him angry for not respecting someone’s tragic death; so he ended up commenting to Honey Lou. An exchange of conversation happened between the two, asking what’s funny about her post.

Honey Lou explained that she was laughing at Kim bly post, the one who originally made the categorical photo. She did not feel sorry for the post she made because the page was intended for a friend whom they were teasing.

“I’m not saying sorry but kato nga page kay sa among migo ang gisungog siya.”

Accordingly, it should have been privately posted on their page but then it was revealed publicly so she is not sorry for her reaction.

“It should be in our page but gipagawas so I’m not sorry kung ing-ato ang ko.”

John insisted that she shouldn’t make fun out of someone ‘s tragic death because it is not funny but that doesn’t change her mind because for her it was funny.

“kataw-an man sa akua,” she replied.

He was still confused that it made him aske what was funny and laughable with someone’s death. Honey Lou emphasized that she was laughing about her friend whom they were teasing and she doesn’t even care if he would be angry.

“sa akong migo ko nagkatawa wakoy paki ug ma stroke kas kasuko,” she added.

John Twitter’s post received different reactions from the netizens and the ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ champion Janine Berdin also made her comment about the post and thanked John for fighting against Honey Lou for unethical attitude.

Being funny isn’t really a problem, but we should be more sensitive enough  so we would not offend other people. Someone’s tragic death should receive sympathy and not be laughed at.
