Mariah Carey acknowledges Filipinos’ early Christmas start in September

Mariah Carey sends a message to Filipinos as the “Ber Month” begins

The renowned American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey is well aware that as the “Ber Months” begin in the Philippines, her voice and her famous Christmas song ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ will once again be heard throughout the country.

In her post on September 3, Mariah stated that when it comes to Filipinos, she allows her song to be played again, as Filipinos are known for celebrating Christmas season starting in September, as soon as the “Ber Month” sets in.

She said, “🗣️🗣️🗣️ Not yet!!!!”

“I’ll allow it for my Filipino lambs though! 🐑❤️ (I don’t make the rules! 🤷‍♀️)”

Along with her post was another X post from a fan-based account, reporting that the streaming of her song on Spotify has increased since the start of September 2023 compared to the same period last year.

“@MariahCarey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ received 316K streams on Spotify yesterday, a 75% increase compared to the same day in 2022.”

Aside from Mariah Carey, another highly anticipated figure during the Christmas season in the Philippines is the Filipino singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan.
