Veteran star Janice Jurado recently revealed her past association with former President Fidel V. Ramos, one of the politicians who took an interest in her during her career.
In a recent interview with Julius Babao, Janice was asked about her involvement with a government official. She disclosed, “Meron politiko. Patay na. Presidente eh, dating presidente.”
Janice clarified that her connection with Ramos seemed to be more of a “trophy girlfriend” role, where she was invited to accompany him to various events and parties. Her presence at these gatherings was intended to enhance the former President’s image.
However, she emphasized that nothing intimate occurred between her and Ramos. “Wala, wala ‘yung dadalhin ka sa kwarto,” Janice affirmed.
Janice shared that she initially met Ramos when he was the chief of staff of the military. Their interactions continued even after Ramos assumed the presidency.
She also mentioned that Ming, Ramos’s wife, was aware of her role in the former President’s life and treated her respectfully.
Explaining her reasons for befriending Ramos, Janice stated that she sought protection by having a connection with a high-ranking government official. This, she believed, would provide her with support in case she faced any harassment or difficulties in her career.
