Zeinab Harake, Jake Ejercito, Michelle Dy, Bianca Gonzalez, other celebs react to Makati Police chief saying gays crave nudity

According to him, the two parties were dancing together and that the police received no complaint of groping. Cutiyog revealed that Briguela demanded that the complainant remove his pants but the latter declined.

Amid the viral arrest of teen actor Awra Briguela, celebrities Zeinab Harake, Jake Ejercito, Michelle Dy, and Bianca Gonzalez were triggered when Makati City Police Station chief P/Col. Edward Cutiyog assumed that gay people crave nudity.

In an interview on Sen. Raffy Tulfo’s ‘Wanted Sa Radyo,’ Cutiyog seemingly made a generalization about gay people which netizens did not like.

According to him, the two parties were dancing together and that the police received no complaint of groping. Cutiyog revealed that Briguela demanded that the complainant remove his pants but the latter declined.

“Noong medyo nakainom na itong si Awra, pinuntahan itong victim at pinipilit itong hubaran para matignan ang katawan… Noong nasa harap na sila ng establishment bar na iyon ay sinundan sila ng grupo led by Awra and then pinagpupunit ang kanilang damit. And then sinira siya, and then nahulog, and then pinagtatadyakan ng ibang kasamahan. Yun po ang nangyari,” Cutiyog said.

When asked by Tulfo why Briguela would do such a thing, the police chief said, “E alam mo naman, si Awra is gay. Gusto niyang makita ‘yung magandang katawan.”

Tulfo did not take kindly to Cutiyog’s response.

“Ay hindi, sir. Mali ka dyan, sir. Huwag, sir. Huwag ganoon. Palibhasa gay, gusto makita agad ang katawan ng isang lalaki?” the senator said.

Zeinab Harake, Jake Ejercito, Michelle Dy, and Bianca Gonzalez also blasted Cutiyog.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), Briguela will be able to post bail the following week, at the earliest.

This information was provided to INQUIRER.net on Friday, despite the fact that Briguela already went through inquest proceedings before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office on Friday morning.

“On or before 10:30 am nagsimula ang inquest,” SPD public information office said in a text message.

Fortunately, Briguela was already released from jail on July 1, after posting bail amounting to Php 6,000.

The teen actor is facing charges for physical injuries, alarm and scandal, disobedience to authority, and direct assault.

The 19-year-old star allegedly instigated a confrontation with complainant Mark Christian Ravana’s group. This incident was captured in a viral video circulating online.

Ravana and Angelo Nino Gulmatico, a bar bouncer, sought help from the Poblacion police substation.

The claims made by Ravana and Gulmatico against Briguela were contradicted by the actor’s friend, content creator Zayla Nakajima.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, Nakajima asserted that Ravana had attempted to sexually harass her and that Briguela merely defended her and their group.
