Netizens blast Cristy Fermin’s co-host for calling ‘It’s Showtime’ trash

Wendel mentioned that the decision of the executives of the Kapuso network to place both noontime shows in the same timeslot is a mistake, as it would lead to a clash between the two programs.

The recent statements made by Cristy Fermin’s colleague, Wendel Alvarez, against ABS-CBN’s noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ have been widely criticized by the program’s viewers.

In the latest episode of  ‘Shpowbiz Now Na’ on YouTube, the hosts talked about the airing of the Kapamilya noontime program on GTV.

According to the three hosts, they find it puzzling why GMA accepted ‘It’s Showtime’ despite still having their own new show ‘Eat Bulaga!’

Wendel mentioned that the decision of the executives of the Kapuso network to place both noontime shows in the same timeslot is a mistake, as it would lead to a clash between the two programs.

Fans of ‘It’s Showtime’ did not take kindly to what Wendel said.

Wendel has yet to respond to critics.

The recent announcement of ABS-CBN about the transfer of ‘It’s Showtime’ to GMA Network’s GTV has caused a stir in the entertainment industry.

This move comes at a time when comedy legends Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon are set to occupy the noontime slot on TV5. In response to these developments, Vice Ganda, the main host of ‘It’s Showtime,’ released a 20-minute YouTube video addressing the situation.

In the video, Vice Ganda shared that he was informed about the decision to discontinue the airing ‘It’s Showtime’ on TV5 by ABS-CBN executive Cory Vidanes. He knew of the news his successful Araneta concert.

The host expressed that he did not feel any anger or resentment as the happiness from his successful concert outweighed the impact of the show’s time slot change.

“What else can hurt us? We’ve reached rock bottom already, so ano pang mas sasakit doon?

According to reports, TV5 offered ‘It’s Showtime’ a 4:30 p.m. slot in order to accommodate Tito, Vic, and Joey’s show.

However, ABS-CBN politely declined the offer as they preferred to keep their noontime slot.

Vice made it clear that he bears no grudges or negative feelings towards TV5.

He expressed gratitude towards the network for giving them a platform for ‘It’s Showtime’ and for bringing happiness to their viewers.

“Nakaramdam kami ng pagdiriwang at kasiyahan dahil sa tulong nila, and that will forever be one great reason to be grateful to them.”

For the past year, ‘It’s Showtime’ has been airing on TV5 at noon under a contract that is set to expire on June 30.

On June 20, it was officially announced that the show would be moving to GTV starting July 1, maintaining its noontime slot.

Meanwhile, the upcoming show of Tito, Vic, and Joey on TV5 is yet to be given a name.
