An architect turns viral after a client declines his services due to the hefty cost

An architect has gone viral after a client refused to seek his services after revealing the cost of a house blueprint.

The screenshot of their conversation was shared on the Facebook page “Palacio Architectural Services.”

The conversation shows that the client sent a private message to the architect on Messenger to inquire about the cost of an architectural design for a 150-square-meter lot.

The architect responded that their fee is ₱105,000 for a 150 sqm floor area, including printing and revisions.

The client, however, found this too expensive.

The client replied that they would just have it drawn by their godchild who is an architecture student, and it would be free of charge.

“Ok, ma’am I understand po. Just let me know if magbago po isip nyo,” the architect said.

Netizens had different reactions and opinions about the viral conversation.

Some criticized the client’s lack of understanding of architectural design’s value, while others empathized with the high cost and complexity of the profession.

Some proposed educating the public on architects’ functions and significance. Others bemoaned the industry’s poor pay despite laborious work and extensive research.
