Mobile Legends professional player Peter Lozano, also known as “Basic,” of gaming organization The Valley posted screenshots of alleged chats between Tristan Cabrera, known as “Yawi,” and Caro, Basic’s girlfriend, on social media as the new year began.
The screenshots appeared to show Yawi initiating conversations with Caro through Facebook Messenger’s Vanish Mode, complimenting her appearance.
Basic had previously been involved in a controversy with Yawi’s former teammate, Renejay Barcarse. In addition to the Facebook Messenger conversations, Basic also posted screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation, in which Yawi denied having a girl on Instagram.
Here are some of the messages sent:
“Come here! Hayst nvm! I want you to be here but nvm. I think you’re talking to boys. It looks like you’re more on the Valley. So I will start helping you. If right now you want, I’ll make discussions, but it looks like you don’t listen to me and listen to Basic.”
“If u r not excited. I’m really not excited about you. So being Yawi, u don’t want me.”
Yawi later asked for an address but backed out.
After saying that he wasn’t drunk, Yawi shot a text again.
“Hayst i wanna be with u. Anw nevermind. Just sleep and see you next life. Come here pls. I miss you. Anyways, i feel like you’re just thinking about yourself. Anyways take care. I felt like you’re using me but I feel like you’re a good girl. Anyways take care. Bye.”
Netizens slammed Yawi for his recent actions.

Yawi is way too lucky to have Jen and still, he fucked up.
I don't believe that once a cheater is always a cheater since cheating is a choice—like one can choose to change for the better, or choose to stay the asshole that he/she is. Unfortunately, Yawi chose the latter. Shame.

In the final screenshot that Basic uploaded to social media, there is a blurry profile picture but no other identifying information.
The head coach of ECHO, Harold Reyes, explained the reason for Yawi’s absence from the team’s opening match against RRQ Hoshi in the M4 World Championship group stage. The decision to draft Jaypee Cruz instead of YAWI was made by the team and was not related to the recent controversy involving YAWI and Basic.
