Ronnie Alonte declares he lost 1 billion in crypto tokens and not Php1 billion

Netizens were shocked when Alonte mentioned the figure. However, he later revealed that he lost a billion tokens and not a billion Philippine pesos.

Actor Ronnie Alonte has revealed that he lost 1 billion in crypto coins and not 1 billion pesos.

The couple was attacked by the “Basag Kotse gang” in Bacoor, Cavite, on December 1, only days after launching their new cafe. According to Alonte, they went by their freshly established café at 8 p.m. When they departed, they were astounded to learn that their car had been broken into.

Alonte’s girlfriend, Actress Loisa Andalio, detailed how it all transpired.

Tapos balak namin mag-picture lang ng mga products, mga food, para may ma-post kami sa social media. And umalis na kami kagad siguro mga 9pm. Saktong sakto papasara na ‘yung cafe. Pag baba namin basag na ‘yung sasakyan,” she said.

Alonte told Push ABS-CBN that he and the burglar had made eye contact. He immediately notified authorities.

Na-confirm lang nung ni-review na sa CCTV. And hanggang ngayon iniimbestigahan pa rin nila. Hindi pa nahuhuli. Pero sana mahuli kasi ayaw namin na may mabiktima pa siyang iba,” he added.

Unfortunately, among the items stolen from the car were three iPhones containing the couple’s cryptocurrency and bank accounts. When asked how much they lost, Alonte said a billion pesos.

Netizens were shocked when Alonte mentioned the figure. However, he later revealed that he lost a billion tokens and not a billion Philippine pesos.

The actor revealed, “Bangko kasi namin nandun. ‘Yung mga naka-save namin. Meron pa kaming crypto sa phone na nawala na may malaking halaga din. Kaya medyo nakakalungkot din. Ngayon wala na yung na-save namin. More or less, siguro 1B. Pag crypto mahirap kasi once na nawala, wala na talaga. So hindi na mababalik.”

Andalio explained how recovering crypto assets is way more difficult than retrieving a bank account.

A Pinoy crypto enthusiast also revealed how much the couple actually lost.

According to the couple, they invested in the Frenchie Network project. This new token has an extremely low market capitalization and is oversupplied. The content creator then calculated how much 1 billion in Frenchie tokens is and it’s only around P7,000.
