Rumor says Manny Villar offered Noli De Castro and Korina Sanchez only P1 million each to sign with AllTV

AllTV has yet to fully capitalize on its nationwide free TV franchise. It bought the analog transmitter from ABS-CBN which will no longer be used next year as the media giant will be shifting to a digital transition

Manny Villar reportedly attempted to lowball huge television fixtures such as Noli “Kabayan” de Castro and Korina Sanchez to headline a flagship news program on his AllTV Channel 2.

A rumor said Villar offered the “dream team” of De Castro and Sanchez only P1 million each for the news program as he would not be doing what Manny V. Pangilinan did a decade ago when he established TV5.

“Both De Castro and Sanchez scoffed at the lowball offer saying to close friends they’d rather stick to their current jobs rather than join AllTV,” said the report.

De Castro still anchors Teleradyo and runs his show “KBYN” on YouTube, while Sanchez stars in the weekly magazine show “Rated Korina” on TV5 and will run an upcoming show on Net 25.

The report said AllTV would no longer pursue TV Patrol producer Cheryl Favila due to budget constraints.

“Unless Manny spends to attract talent, wala, nagaaksaya lang siya ng pera diyan,” it said.

AllTV has yet to capitalize on its nationwide free TV franchise fully. It bought the analog transmitter from ABS-CBN, which will no longer be used next year as the media giant will shift to a digital transition.

In order to optimize its franchise, AllTV must acquire other frequencies. However, it is clear that Villar will not splurge in signing big names in the industry. TV5 has lost P5.3 billion in the last three years due to Pangilinan’s tactics.

Wowowin’s long-time choreographer Anna Feliciano previously called on lesser-known artists to join the new network.

“Naghahanap ako ng mga less known artists, or mga talents na hindi pa masyadong nabibigyan ng spotlight sa showbiz (preferrable actors/actresses and models). Pakimessage lang ako at isend na rin ang vtr/setcard. Dapat at vaccinated, wala pang contract, at willing magwork under ALLTV.” she said in a Facebook post.

In another post, she urged parents to have their kids sign up too. “CUTE KID BOYS and GIRLS- Ages 8yo to 12yo, very cute and can follow instructions. Better kung bungi basta cute pa rin. Open sa bungi, kulot/big curly hair, may space sa teeth, medyo chubby, basta variety of looks na very charming. Sana expressive ang mata.” she wrote.

“GOOD LOOKING BOYS and GIRLS- Ages 15yo to 20yo, artistahin ang histura, good command of following instructions, and may K magpatawa.” she added.

On September 19, AllTV announced that it’ll be airing ABS-CBN programs.

“Ang isa sa pinaka matagumpay na Mini Serye ng TV5 nandito na! Abangan ang natatanging pagganap ng nagiisang Nora Aunor! Kasama ang ilan sa mga dekalibreng artista ng henerasyon. Sa Ngalan ng Ina dito lang sa ALLTV Saya All!” it announced on Facebook.

Based on recent ratings, AllTV’s programs haven’t been doing so well. Many also see it as a channel for the supporters of Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
