Capiz mayor proud to be a former macho dancer

Due to his popularity, the people urged him to run for public office. But it wasn’t without any criticism, however. Some poked fun at his previous job as a macho dancer

The mayor of President Roxas, Capiz, has gone viral on social media after his interesting past was uncovered.

Mayor Receliste “Tanoy” L. Escolin sat down with ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’ for an upcoming episode.

In the interview, Escolin revealed that he worked odd jobs as the breadwinner of his family.

Due to insufficient income, Escolin became more willing to take up any part-time jobs. Eventually, he took the opportunity to work as a dancer at a gay bar.

Malaki raw kasi suweldo kapag sumasayaw. Kaya pinatulan ko na ‘yung trabaho.Kailangan ko kasing mag-survive,” he said.

He was uncomfortable initially, but he knew better than to quit. Escolin then used his savings to start a business which he said became a success.

Due to his popularity, the people urged him to run for public office. But it wasn’t without any criticism, however. Some poked fun at his previous job as a macho dancer.
During the election season, Escolin openly supported the presidential candidacy of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the entire UniTeam.

Escolin and other political leaders met with the UniTeam in Iloilo City, confirming their support for the coalition.
Sa ngayon ho… nandito kami no from Antique, Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo province, at ito ‘yung nandito ngayon talagang 100 percent na sumusuporta no sa BBM-Sara tandem no,” he told a journalist.
He said the Marcos-Duterte tandem could help the country recover from the economic crisis.
Escolin was then reelected as municipal mayor.
