Harry Roque lies about not being in close contact with Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, after testing positive for COVID-19

He advised those with whom he came into close contact to isolate themselves.

When Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Monday, March 15, announced that he got infected with the coronavirus.

He was surprised when the March 14 COVID-19 test came back positive. Fortunately, he is experiencing no symptoms.

“It came as a shock that after 35 tests, we came back positive,” said Roque during his regular briefing.

Roque is preparing to show up to President Rodrigo Duterte’s regular public addresses, to which he is a regular attendee.

He assured that he didn’t get in contact with Duterte and that he was “just from afar.”

“I had no close contact with the President, just from afar,” he said.

But a photo circulating online showed Roque being less than a yard away from Duterte and other government officials during a trip to Dumaguete.

He advised those with whom he came into close contact to isolate themselves.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. and testing czar Vince Dizon have gone quarantine.

His last public appearance was in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, wherein he sat at the same table as Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc and Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos.

Prior to that event, Roque said he tested negative for COVID-19.
