Would-be thief goes viral, unexpectedly threatens to file cyber libel case against store owner

The man knew he went viral and all he could do is apologize.

A video of a man failing to complete an act of thievery is making rounds on social media.

Rachel Vallesfin Tayoto of Caloocan shared the CCTV footage of how she prevented an unnamed man from stealing a motorcycle tire from their store.

In the video, the man in red was looking around to see if there are any other people in the room. He proceeded to grab a tire literally in front of Rachel as she has her head down doing something else.

He didn’t know that Rachel actually saw what he did, and unbeknownst to him, his activities were being recorded by a surveillance camera.

He then slowly placed the tire behind a wall. Rachel meanwhile continued to act oblivious.

Rachel and friends narrated as they watched the video and all they could do was laugh.

As the would-be thief talked about buying more tires with a different woman, Rachel went behind the wall to see if he really placed the tire there. She sees it and goes back to acting preoccupied.

After a minute, she goes back behind the wall and takes the tire, places it somewhere secluded, and goes upstairs.

The man didn’t see her take the tire as he was too busy with his transaction.

“Bobo-bobo mo!” Rachel said as she laughed while watching the footage.

The man headed to the exit but couldn’t find the tire he hid behind the wall.

He stood for a couple of seconds looking confused. He looked around for it before leaving.

This part had Rachel and her friends laughing the hardest.

“Tangina ka ah!” she said.

Netizens also expressed joy in the comment section.

The 20-year-old provided an update on the would-be thief on her personal Facebook account.

According to her, the man went back and apologized to them yesterday.

OMG!!! Andito yung lalaki kanina, humihingi ng sorry.

Sorry din kuya, diko naman alam na mag viral. Pasensya na, godbless. 😹😹😹

Then just recently, based on her update, the man threatened to file a cyber libel case against her. She already gave him a chance by not reporting him to the police and even deleting the footage on her account.

The man knew he went viral and all he could do is apologize.

Rachel then teased about appearing on Raffy Tulfo’s program.
