VP Leni Robredo’s spokesperson tells administration to listen to what experts are saying

VP Robredo’s spokesperson advised the administration to start listening to health experts.

  • He added that the VP has reached out to IATF with recommendations a couple of times.
  • Gutierrez then told them to read the recommendations so that they won’t look inutile.

Vice President Leni Robredo’s camp spoke up and called out the Duterte administration to listen to what health experts are saying instead of just waiting for the COVID-19 vaccine to be publicly available.

The Vice President’s spokesperson Ibarra Gutierrez released a statement after Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque accused Robredo of politicking after President Rodrigo Duterte said that the government has been doing enough as there are enough hospitals, quarantine facilities, and morgues available while the country is waiting for a vaccine.

Gutierrez stated that whenever there’s a problem, the administration always answers the same thing.

He added that Robredo has tried to make them listen to health experts but they chose to remain inutile.

One of the Vice President’s recommendations is for the government to improve its assistance of the employees who are already returning to work amid quarantine restrictions.

President Duterte earlier compared Robredo to a “germ flying around” and said that the public should not listen to her.

“Alam mo Leni kung gusto mo, if you really want to do away with the COVID, i-spray-han natin itong Pilipinas o Manila ng pesticide para patay lahat. What do you want us to do? Ang problema kasi nitong… ‘yung magsabi na we are not doing enough. What can we do with the germ that’s flying around?” Duterte said.
