Tahong vendor returns Php15 million

• He said that a bag fell adjacent to his shop so he decided to look at it.
• In a brown envelope inside the said bag, he found the manager’s check which was later returned to its rightful owner. 

There are numerous stories of ordinary Filipinos finding a big amount of money and choosing to be honest and selfless by surrendering it to the authorities instead of keeping it to themselves.

Recently, a tahong vendor went viral after he returned a check he found. It made a huge buzz because, despite the unbelievable amount, he did not hesitate and did what is right.

Marlon Tanael returned a manager’s check worth Php15 million to the Imus City Treasurer’s Office. According to the man, he found the check inside the bag that fell in front of his stall along a highway. When he opened the bag, he admitted that he was a bit scared as he thought that it contained something harmful.

But he got surprised that the only thing it held was a brown envelope with the manager’s check inside.

Tanael then said that he immediately went to the treasurer’s office to surrender the item.

In an interview, he said that he’s more than willing to return it.

The official Facebook page of CTO Imus shared the vendor’s honesty with photos from the hand-over.

The check was later returned to a man named Gramwil Mark Pango which is a representative of Property Company of Friends, Inc.
