“Poverty is a very complicated issue, but feeding a child isn’t.”

A group of friends are going viral on social media for helping out a little kid.

Thirdy Echenique Dela Torre III posted a story on Facebook about how he and his friends made a little boy’s day.

Thirdy and his friends decided to get some fried chicken after school. They got what they wanted but as they were leaving, they saw a little kid who looked really hungry handing out four pesos to the vendor. The little boy looked like a mess and didn’t have any slippers on.

Thirdy and his friends felt bad for the little boy, so they decided to help him out. They bought him a lot of chicken and even gave him back his money. Not only that, they also bought the kid new slippers and clothes so he can go to school.

The kindness does not stop there, Thirdy and friends bought the kid a basketball and made sure that he made it home safe. Thirdy also made a promise that next time, he would buy him a basketball of better quality.

Thirdy said that people who are in a better position compared to the kid should really have nothing to complain about, and that they should practice gratitude.

Thirdy said he did not post what he and his friends did for likes and clarified that he just wanted to open up people’s minds.

“HINDI KO PINOST TO PARA MAGPASIKAT OR ANO MAN HA PINOST KO TO PARA MAGING BUKAS TAYONG TUMULONG SA KAPWA LALO NA SA MGA BATA”
