A single father loses custody of his daughter after raising her for two years

  • Roman Castro Mendoza is a single father who solely raised his daughter for two years without the help of the mother
  • As a single father, he managed to do both studying and working to support his daughter
  • The mother suddenly showed up and took custody of their child

Raising a child was never easy especially for a single parent. Custody of the child was always an issue for both sides of the families. In Philippine law, it is stated that the mother has the right to the custody of the child below seven years old.

However, there are people who are against this law and consider it unjust.

A Facebook user named Roman Castro Mendoza shared his sentiments over the unjust system of governmental law. He is a single father who solely raised his daughter for two years without the help of the mother. But then, the mother, who just showed up, still won custody over their child.

Roman loves his daughter so much. As a single father, he managed to do both studying and working to support his daughter. He had so many restless days and sleepless nights to be able to give what her daughter needed.

After all his sacrifices raising her daughter for two years, the mother suddenly showed up and took custody of their child.

“Bakit ang unfair? Ganun ganun nalang yun? Kung kelan malaki na, sya pa din ang may karapatan? Nasaan sya nung mga panahon na yun? Nasaan sya nung mga panahong puyat ako, nag aaral ako, nagwo-work ako, nasaan sya?”

They brought their concerns to the authority and even if Mendoza took care of his daughter for two years, the law still favored the mother. His heart felt the pain of losing her daughter as he doesn’t stand a chance to fight against the law. So, he shared his sentiment on social media.

“Ayokong makitang ibang lalaking nag aalaga sayo.. Iloveyou Romaine, kahit nanay sya di sya naging ina sayo tamang sa kanya ka lumabas.. Kung nakakapag salita lang si Romaine ayaw na sumama sa inyo, iyak ng iyak.. Kasi alam ng bata yung totoong nagmamahal sa kanya hindi yung may pinaplano lang na kakaiba.”

His post went viral and netizens have sympathized for him. Even with the post, they have felt the love and know how a good father he is.
