A netizen shares her realization toward a happy working life

  • Seeing two happy construction workers who were working under the heat of the sun made her realize how blessed she was
  • Complaining is not the solution to having a happy working life
  • Every day, we learn very good lessons if we pay attention

Have you ever felt that you have the most stressful and worst job ever? Here is a realization of a netizen that went viral, after posting her message on social media.

We used to complain about the problems we have in life. Though we have lots of blessings, we failed to see them most of the time and instead keep in mind that we are the unluckiest person in the world. Until one day, somebody would make us realize that we are so blessed, and despite doing a heavy and/or hard job, we are still happily working.

Just like one Facebook user, Lady Grace Villalba, who posted a photo of a construction site with two construction workers and wrote the message, “Crossing the bridge of Central Avenue under the scorching heat of the sun, after my class in law school, with all complaints on my mind. Then, suddenly I saw these two happily working on a Sunday noon. My ungrateful heart just slapped me. They may be compensated (meagerly) for the job but the dedication is worth appreciating. Thank you for working hard po and for making the Philippines a better place to live in.“

As she was crossing the bridge of Central Avenue, after her class in the law school, she suddenly saw those two happy construction workers who were working under the heat of the sun. It made her realize how blessed she was.

At that very moment, her mind was full of complaints but seeing those men made her ungrateful heart  slap her. Most probably, her job was better than them but she still complains.

Sometimes, we only see ourselves and want to have what we want. We easily get disappointed and tend to complain immediately; especially about our job-related concerns. But some people make us realize that complaining is not the solution to having a happy working life.

It needs love and dedication to the job that you have chosen. There is no such thing as an easy job because all of us have to work hard. But then, it only matters how much we do love our jobs. Simply working without loving it would only lead to discouragement and disappointments.

At the end of her message, she appreciated the dedication and hard work of the the two men and thanked them for making the country a better place to live in.

“Ps: Everyday, we learn very good lessons if we pay attention,” she wrote.
