A 22-year-old vlogger has shocked the social media community when she got jailed for committing a sexual act with a live eel during a broadcast in 2019.
According to China Press and Oriental Daily, the social media star Zhang Moumou, widely known as Qi Qi, has been jailed for one year and nine months for obscenity. She has also been fined 50,000 yuan by the Zhuji People’s Court in Zhejiang.
Two years ago, Qi Qi has said that she was keen on hosting her own live shows online as an attempt to earn more than she already does.

She then decided to go “extreme” by offering pornographic content to her followers. This resulted to her earning 91,000 yuan in the span of two months.
In March 2017, she set up a “VIP channel” that became the venue for her to grant a request from a man and that was to perform a sexual act with an eel.
The two-minute video became widely shared on social media. She continued on making pornographic content on an illegal Chinese streaming platform called Tiger. The content included her having sex with her boyfriend.
She was arrested by China’s anti-pornography police in May that year.
