No Bridal Car, No Problem! Newlyweds use habal-habal as bridal vehicle

  • Couple rode the habal-habal to go home from the church.
  • The newlyweds shared that they had no choice but to choose the habal-habal as a mode of transportation as their budget was not sufficient to rent a bridal car.

A photo of newlyweds while riding habal-habal in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte, went viral on Facebook.

Habal-habal is a local dialect for motorcycle taxis or motorcycle “for hire” which means “sitting close to each other”. Habal-habal passengers, who usually range from two to three persons per side, sit behind the driver, close to each other, thus the term.

The bride is named Rozel Beloy and the groom is Renato, who was the one driving the motorcycle.

According to Renato, they used the habal-habal as bridal vehicle because their budget was not enough to rent an actual bridal car. They previously planned to ride a multicab with their guests, however, it was already full.

The photos were uploaded by Facebook user Arlyn Solver Montalban.
