Army Officer’s ‘open’ head wound will not stop him from fighting in Marawi

  • Army Officer damages head in a Marawi bomb explosion
  • Private First Class Alcantara will still fight

With more than 19,000 reactions and over 5,000 shares, who would not be amazed with the courage this soldier portrayed.

Fallen but about to rise again

Emily Padilla on Facebook first posted a video and a picture of Private First Class Harry Alcantara from Rizal, Nueva Ecija. Padilla noticed his ‘hair band’ out of medical bandages. She then asked Alcantara what happened.

A bomb explosion in Marawi damaged his head and had to be operated at the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital to remove the shrapnel from his head.

He was then asked whether he will continue to fight or put his guard down after the incident. “He said without blinking an eye, ‘Opo,'” Padilla described.

Through this instance where we can finally say that not every wounded fighter will remain wounded. They may be calloused, but the fighter in them will eventually ignite the remaining fire.

Learn from Harry Alcantar–that nothing or no one can ever dull your intention to protect everything you love.Alcantara is a modern-day hero and we should all salute him.

Kudos, comrade!
