In a research Volleywood has conducted, they came up with the Top 5 World’s Most Followed Volleyball Players on Instagram.
Filipina on Top!
Harris Jazz Mortillero on YouTube tallied hundreds of Volleyball players in the world and trimmed it down to five.
Receiving the 5th spot was Thailand’s prized setter Nootsara Tomkom tallying almost 750,000 followers. Above her was a brilliant setter as well, Bruno Rezende of Brazil with 900,000+ followers.
Taking the third spot? Alyssa Valdez.
Reaching the one million mark on Instagram, the Phenom Alyssa Valdez came out as the World’s Most Followed Female Volleyball Player on Instagram.
Despite being third to Iran’s Saied Marouf (1.6M+ followers) and Seyed Mousavi (1.1M+ followers), ‘Bagyong Baldo’ emerged to be the lone female player who had a million following on the said social media app.
What’s next to Aly?
After spearheading the rebirth of the sport in the country, Alyssa Valdez is now dubbed as the ‘face of Philippine Volleyball’. The former Queen Eagle from the Ateneo Lady Eagles with 14 others will compete in the upcoming SouthEast Asian Games.
