Cancer-Stricken Lady Planned Her own Funeral Inspired from the movie “Die Beautiful”

If there’s one thing that most people are afraid of, it would be death. Some say that they are not yet ready to pass away as they still have a lot of things to do on Earth.

On the other hand, there are also a few who had finally accepted the sad reality of their forthcoming death.

This is Racine Pregunta. She is a gorgeous model, who was unfortunately stricken with a rare disease called Osteosarcoma – which targeted a person’s bones.

Last year, she was struggling with her battle to her illness, but last April 12th, she informed everyone that she’s ready to see heaven and had requested for a white, off-shoulder dress and a white flower band.

The next day, she asked for something with the color of violet, blue and mint green – which were her favorite colors.

On the following day, she requested to be buried beside her father. Her sister, Rolyn, tried to give her what she wanted and consulted their mother, who suggested letting her rest on top of her father’s grave since the lot beside her father was not at all cheap.

Racine agreed with the set-up, and added that she wanted to die beautiful just like how Paolo Ballesteros’ character did in his movie Die Beautiful. In addition, she also asked her Ate Gladys to do her makeup since she was her personal makeup artist as well.

Unfortunately, Racine passed away on the 17th of April.

Her sister, Rolyn, made sure to grant her wishes on her funeral. She was wearing her white dress and flower band, but they failed to provide her second request which was something containing her favorite colors on it.

Later on, Racine’s family learned that the Die Beautiful Star, Paolo Ballesteros made an effort to extend his deepest condolences to Racine’s family.

As shared by Rolyn, “At our home, last day of her wake.. beautiful flowers were sent tagged as Anonymous but were told that the sender is from Manila with a special note: “YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL -Pao“. It became as a guessing game of who could it be and later on, it was confirmed to us who sent it: Paolo Ballesteros. I was overwhelmed of how Racine touched his heart and made its way to Davao.”

In the pictures Rolyn had posted, Racine had a smile on her face, as if she was leaving the world peacefully and contentedly without holding any grudge against anyone.

She was buried last April 21st and all her family and friends came to say their farewell messages to her one last time.

According to Rolyn Pregunta, “She may not became a survivor but she is a fighter. For her, to die beautiful is her concept not because she doesn’t have any hopes of being cancer free thus it is her will to be with family and friends and make out the most of her remaining days. Being amputated was not a hindrance of anything, you could still see how she did her best to live her life to the fullest even after declining chemotherapy. As days passed by, cancer cells did reach her brain and had a tumor, affected her lungs and deteriorated her speech. How did she handle it? No pain killers. A touch from me, kissing her and saying I love you from time to time are my ways to sedate her and it made her feel at ease.

Death is inevitable as we do not have an eternal life here on Earth. Some goes ahead of us, while a few might leave a little later.

At the end of the day, it’s not who dies first that matters, but rather the memories a person leaves behind.
