Ingredients

500 ml (17 fl. oz/2 cups) cool water

1–2 tablespoons vinegar

1 pair of long, woolly socks

Fill a bowl with cool water then add vinegar. Soak the socks in the solution and wring them out slightly. Wear it over your feet and calves. Replace the socks with a freshly soaked pair if the patient’s temperature doesn’t go down after five minutes. If the patient’s feet or hands are cold or if he or she starts shivering, remove the socks.
