Text message telling INC members to mobilize on EDSA now spreading on social media

On August 27, 2015, Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) members started a protest against Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary Leila de Lima, claiming that she was meddling in INC’s internal affairs. This protest is ongoing as of this writing and has caused major traffic in EDSA.

On August 29, 2015, a netizen by the name Timothy J. posted a screenshot of a text message encouraging INC members to mobilize along EDSA in order to show the government how powerful they are.

The text message said, “Mga kapatid, nagsimula na ang pagtitipon sa EDSA. Baldahin natin ang trapiko sa Metro Manila para maramdaman ng gobyerno ang lakas ng Iglesia ni Kristo.”

(Brethren, the gathering has started on EDSA. Let us cripple the motorists in Metro Manila so the government will feel how powerful Iglesia ni Kristo is.)

The text message was sent by an unidentified number. A member of the INC, however, questioned the credibility of the message since the spelling of Iglesia ni Cristo was incorrect, and the message was not official.

As of this writing, The DailyPedia is waiting for a statement from Iglesia ni Crito regarding this text message.
