Ebarle and her two kids were reported to have been abducted and taken in separate cars last July 14 at around 1 p.m. in RER subdivision, Cagayan de Oro City. Ebarle was hit by an iron tire changer in the head and was brought to Iligan City. She was stripped of her clothes and beaten but, surprisingly, was let go. Ebarle said the other car carrying her children went to Marawi City.

Ebarle’s injuries.

Ebarle identified their abductors as one of her ex-partner’s brothers and her partner’s other wife. Dela Cruz posted a plea for help as they “don’t have the power and the connection her [Ebarle’s] ex-partner has.” Ebarle was told she would never see her children again and was threatened, but she wants her children back more than anything.
