Did this gov’t official reveal a PBB housemate’s identity on Facebook?

Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) is one of the most awaited and biggest reality shows in the Philippines. It has produced many celebrities and successful actors and actresses like Sam Milby, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, and Bianca Gonzalez just to name a few.

Millions of Filipinos audition or watch this reality show which is known for its “tasks” and its strict house rules.

One of the strictest rules of the show is that the housemates’ identity should not be revealed before the show starts to avoid early campaigning for a housemate. But apparently, one government official was just way too excited for PBB that he actually revealed the identity of one of the housemates.

On June 10, 2015, just 10 days before Kuya’s house is about to open, Governor Joey Salceda of Albay posted and revealed the identity of a housemate whom he claims is a friend, and a favorite majorette from Daraga, Albay.

Apparently, the housemate is named Barbie Imperial, a model, whom the governor even tagged in his post. He even mentioned that they took a selfie together before she left.

Here they are:

So, what’s going to happen to Barbie after this? We still do not know yet, but a similar situation happened in 2012, when an unofficial housemate was disqualified from entering Kuya’s house. Vernon or Non Calara of Pampanga was disqualified for many reasons and two of which were: (1) early campaign of an unofficial housemate and (2) high number of fan pages on the social media months before Kuya’s house opened. However, two other housemates’ identities during that season were also revealed before the show, but  were not disqualified. Alec Dungo and Myrtle Gail Sarrosa apparently were not disqualified because they were already official housemates.

Now, there are many questions to Governor Salceda’s post. Is Barbie an official housemate? Will she get disqualified because of the premature reveal? What was Governor Salceda’s intention of posting her identity? That, we will have to find out.
