This is why a billionaire says life was better when he only earned $12

Jack Ma, billionaire and founding executive of Alibaba, shares his thoughts on being a billionaire. He says it was better when he only earned $ 12 month than earning $ 25 billion a year.

You see, Jack started out as a teacher before he became the genius behind Alibaba. He was earning $ 12 at the time and he says, “It’s the best life I had.”

Jack says it’s easy to know where your money will go if you don’t have much of it, but once you become a billionaire, it becomes a great responsibility.

“If you have less than $1 million, you know how to spend the money. (At) $1 billion, that’s not your money…The money I have today is a responsibility. It’s the trust of people on me.”

He also said that spending money at his level now is spending it “on behalf of the society”.

Why Jack thinks being a billionaire is a great pain

Jack said that being rich is good, but when you are the richest, it becomes a great pain.

People say, ‘Well Jack, please, rich people’s good.’ Yeah, it is good, but not that — richest man of the world — of China. It’s a great pain, because when you are the richest person in the world, everyone is surrounding you for money.

He also said that being the richest also limits you of what you really want to do.

“It is a pain. Especially Forbes, I don’t know which magazine said I’m the richest guy of China. This is a great pain. Because I never thought I would be and I don’t want to be. I just want to do the things I want to do.”
