Maricar Fernando Sebastian confirmed the death of her son Jam Vhille Fernando Sebastian on Wednesday, March 4 at 10:30 am at St. Luke’s Global City.
In her Facebook account, the mother of the Youtube sensation said: “The fight is over we lost the battle my son Jam Fernando Sebastian just passed away 10:30 am march 4,2015.”
A few minutes before Sebastian’s mother announced her son’s death, his girlfriend Paolinne Michelle Liggayu revealed that they were just waiting for Sebastian’s medicine to run off.
In 2011, reel and real-life couple Sebastian and Liggayu rose to fame after their video “By Chance” became a viral hit getting more than 7 million views on YouTube. Known as Jamich, the power couple who regularly uploaded videos, gained more than a million followers since then.
Early last year, Sebastian was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer despite being a non-smoker. According to Sebastian, stress and secondhand smoke from his friends might have contributed to the development of his disease.
His brother Yexel Sebastian disclosed last month that Sebastian sought “mercy killing” in order to end his sufferings. Yexel thanked Sebastian’s fans and supporter in a video he posted on Facebook just a few minutes after his brother’s passing.
