SWS says 51% of Pinoys believe in second chance for love

51% of Pinoys believe that “love is sweeter the second time around,” according to a recent survey conducted by the Social Weather Station (SWS).

The fourth quarter of last year’s SWS survey found half of Filipino adults believe in second chance for love while 29 percent unfavored.

The survey, taken from Nov. 27 to Dec.1, recorded that 27% said they have fallen in love and 49% admitted they have a very happy love life.

Falling in love the second time around is slightly higher among men, the SWS said.

It said 29 percent of men have fallen in love a second time, compared to 24 percent among women.

Highest rebound rate is predominant among live-in partners. 49% of men with live-in partners fell inlove again, while rebound among single men got 41 percent and 20 percent among married men.

“For both men and women, the experience has a slight tendency to be higher among the young than among the old,” the SWS noted.

HAPPINESS IN MARRIED LIFE

SWS said those who are married are happier with their love life.

A slight difference  was recorded in terms of happiness with love life among married men (60 percent) and married woman (57 percent).

Six out of 10 married men have a very happy love life, compared to 48 percent among men with live-in partners and 33 percent among single men.

57% of married women acknowledge they have a more  fruitful relationship compared to 40 percent among with live-in partners and 33 percent among single men.

The ratio of those who say their love life could be happier is slightly higher among women with live-in partners (59 percent) than men with live-in partners (52 percent).

58 percent conceded women said they don’t have a love life while 37% percent of single men say so.

The survey used face-to-face interviews of 1,800 adults among the three island groups.
