Scary Human-Like Creature Gets Beaten Unconscious by People It Tried to Attack

When a scary human-like creature appeared in a plantation and attacked the workers, one of the terrified people decided to fight back and hit the animal. The others helped until the strange creature passed out.

The incident happened last Friday, January 30, at an oil palm plantation right along the Bintangor-Sibu Road in Sibu, Sarawak in Malaysia.

The plantation’s Indonesian workers were terrified of the creature, saying this was the first time they had seen such an animal. It appeared to be hairless, had claws in its hands/forelegs, and looked so thin that its ribs could be seen sticking out of its greyish skin, reports the Borneo Post.

Terrified as they were, the workers did not kill the creature. When it regained consciousness, they hurriedly forced it back towards the jungle.

Though the workers did not inform the authorities about the incident, photos of the creature soon circulated online. This prompted the authorities to investigate the matter.

According to a Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) spokesperson, the animal was positively identified as a sun bear; though the creature appears to be suffering from some form of skin disease, reports STOMP. The spokesperson said the bear could have wandered to the plantation because its home was flooded.

The floods have also prevented the Swift Wildlife Action Team (SWAT) from taking steps to rescue the animal but efforts will be started right after the floods subside.

Despite reports claiming the creature was a sick sun bear, netizens were skeptic. Many said the creature in the photo posted by Borneo Post looks different from a sun bear, especially because sun bears have thick, black fur. However, the authorities did claim that creature in the photo looked like it had skin disease, so it is still possible this was, indeed, a sun bear.
