BSP releases Pope Francis commemorative coins

In commemorating historical visit of Pope Francis, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will soon to release limited edition of coins.

It is announced that by last week of January P50 coins and P500 coins will be released.

The P50 Papal commemorative coin will be sold for P100 while P500 coins will cost P1,000 that will use to cover production and packaging costs.

By May 2015, BSP is expected to launch P1,000 coins and P10,000 gold coins which will be sold for P3,500 and P25,000 respectively.

Unfortunately, coins will only be available through issued order forms from BSP which you can download here.

Afterwhich, accomplished forms should be submitted to [email protected] before the end of June 2015. Once sent, will receive a confirmation e-mail that indicates detailed information when to pay and pick up the coins at BSP.

The coins are created under a licensing agreement with the Vatican, BSP said.

During the papal visits of Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II, commemorative coins were also issued as giving tribute to country’s significant events.
