A “Dislike Button” for Facebook – A Why Not for Mark Zuckerberg

Admit it, we just don’t like everything we see in our news feeds.

In a public Q&A, Mark Zuckerberg addresses a question from a curious audience about the chance of a “dislike button” for Facebook in the near future.

With this, he states that he wants Facebook users to have more freedom to express full range of emotions. He says,

We’re thinking about it. On the dislike button… there are more sentiments that people want to express than just positivity or that they like something,

Mr. Zuckerberg, however, stresses that the ‘dislike’ or similar button should have to be a ‘force for good’ and not to be ‘demeaning the post’. Also, he tells the audience that there are zero plans for a dislike button for Facebook at present.

For us, this might mean that Mark Zuckerberg is going to give us the right to virtually disagree. Imagine clicking “dislike” seeing a ‘racist post’, – brilliant! And to the rest of fame whores, braggers, and the whole company, this is an obvious threat!
