“I’m coming with you” – Man says to Dying Wife; Hours Later, He also Died

George and Pat Pitman were married for 55 years, promising to themselves that it is truly going to be a ‘til-death-do-us-part kind marriage – yet the two defied odds by not letting death keep them apart!

At age 77, both of them are already quite old and sick. Pat was bed-ridden in a hospital while George was supposed to be admitted in another medical facility yet the doting husband would not be separated from his wife.

He took vigil by her side for the many days she was in the hospital, despite being sick himself. The doctors decided to treat him in the same room as his wife. So, they prepared a bed for him there.

It soon became clear that his wife is dying. So, the husband told her to let go because he will be right there with her.

I’m coming with you,” said George to the dying Pat. After this, Pat died in peace.

We could not dictate when and how we die – but true to his words, George died mere hours after Pat’s passing! The reason was aneurysm in his chest, reports Mirror UK, but in layman’s terms, that means he died of a broken heart.

For their daughter Jacqueline Gofton, 55, it was both sad and wonderful – after all, she just lost her parents at the same time! Yet she also knew it would be hard for either one to survive without the other. So, dying just hours of each other is the next best thing for the doting couple.
