Kid who sells Pandesal robbed by a Scumbag; Netizens to the rescue…

Street Kid who is making an honest living by selling bread in the streets got robbed.

Poor kid was trembling with fear when a scumbag robbed the young boy. Maybe we can say that the man got only ₱200.00 from the poor boy, but it’s not just about the money, it’s also trauma the young boy experienced. He’s also probably afraid to go home and tell his parents he does not have their money. The video originally uploaded by Christopher Pacheco has gone viral and was shared 11,458 times and was already reuploaded in many Facebook fan pages.

Many of our netizens who saw the video was touched and asked for the info about the little boy. For those asking about this little boy and wants to help him, his name is Mark Christian ‘Kokey’ Santos and he lives at Reform 168, Deparo, Caloocan. He’s known in the baranggay because he sells in the streets of Deparo to sell salt breads (pandesal).

It’s great that everyone wants to help him, but the real problem is that he’s out working when he should be in school. I know it’s not his fault due to having to eat daily, it’s just sad the he has to work and not be in school learning how crappy his leaders screw the country! He shouldn’t be working in the first place.

  1. True! He shouldn’t be working at his young age, but his family is so poor that they need everyone, including the children, to find means to get some cash in order to live. That is the kind of poverty we have in the Philippines — the lack of a decent job for parents in order for their families to live and their children to go to school! We need to have this big economic reform to bring in more jobs and increase the people’s salaries! But of course, those on the top should pay more taxes too! PLUS, the govt shouldn’t corrupt the nation’s treasury!

  2. Firstly, to the person who wrote this
This isn’t just the government’s fault, it’s also his parents who directly affects what happens to him.

Secondly, it’s sad to know that people are so desperate for cash they’ll prey on small children who are trying to make an honest living. That’s just too much! And to the people who say there are better prey out there than this kid? NO ONE should ever go through such an ordeal, not even beggars.

  3. As a mother of a 5 year old son and a 7 year old daughter, my heart fell when i saw this video. Poor kid, he became a victim at such an early age. Tiyak na-trauma ang bata. Salamat na lamang at maraming tumulong na at gusto pang tumulong sa kanya. Sana makapag-aral na siya muli.

My siblings and i had been selling ice candy and turon in the streets on our own accord every summer because we want to earn money and save for our school needs. Luckily, that time, hindi pa ganoon kasama ang paligid.

  4. I felt really sad when watching thus video. You can clearly see how traumatized the child was. He was shaking… Also he should be in school, not working! My brother and him are in the same age. I kinda wanna help but I don’t know how… I’m only 16 and I live in the US. Please let me know how I can help the boy.

    • The problem is that in the Philippines, most people are too poor to even attend school. It’s not like in the states where the schools are funded by the government. School is expensive there because the economy is too harsh. It’s just the sad reality.

  5. I think that its okay for kids to do bits of work like this. In some countries kids delivers newspaper in the morning right. Whats not okay is that he is mugged! The kid is making an honest living and he is mugged by the people who … Ggrrrrr!

  6. I am Brazilian and human. Watch the video of the poor boy who was robbed while working. Sadly this video. This child should’re in school and not working. The world weeps to see this. The pobrema is that puliticos does nothing, just want to steal our money. God bless all the children of the world.

  7. True the poor child needs better respect. True socirty sucks. But I began working st 8 years old. I shoveled snow off driveways. I raked leaves. I cut lawns. I sold garden seeds.
I also wentvto school. I hope he gets an educstion and he should be praised for working! He’s a good kid.

  8. Seriously? I think the government is partly to be blamed for this. Hindi dapat sila nangungurakot eh. If they know how to fund FAIRLY para sa mga tao nila, hindi sana nangyayari ito. Binabawasan pa nila yung mga trabaho at binabawasan yung sweldo. It’s only natural people will rob each other. They were voted so that there would be justice and fairness amongst everyone, so they could change the bad impressions of the people to them. One out of all candidates for those positions lamang ang serbisyo talaga ang hatid para sa bansa. Let’s face this fact. Shame on you! SHAME ON YOURSELVES!!! Karma is evrywhere, what comes around goes around and I hope it happens to you REAL SOON. Thank you for listening to my rant.

  9. It really disheartens me to see this young boy having this kind of experience. I hope that thief will be stock in jail forever! Where is the efficiency of our justice system now?
