Husband’s ‘Secret’ Video, The Reason Why ‘Lost’ Camarines Norte Governor’s Wife went Hiding

Last Monday, Camarines Norte Governor ‎Edgardo Tallado formed ‘Task Force Josie’ to rally the police and netizens to help him find his lost wife. He tearfully announced to the media how he holds high hopes that nothing bad has happened to her, and that she is still alive despite having gone missing for 3 days already.

The governor believes someone kidnapped his wife and her friend Darlene Francisco. The two were supposed to be on their way to meet with barangay officials in a neighboring town. They asked for police escort but never arrived where they were supposed to go.

The task force team comprised of police officers, Tallado’s own bodyguards and aides, and Camarines Norte constituents who were tasked to check various entry and exit points in the province to find Josie.

Real-life telenovela?

Fearing for her life now that hundreds of people are looking for her, Josie finally surfaced in a tell-all interview with Umagang Kay Ganda.

What shocked the media is her revelation that she was not lost but had actually gone hiding on her own volition because her husband of 28 years threatened and accused her of uploading his video and photo scandal.

A photo of her husband’s mistress, doing various acts in front of the camera was allegedly uploaded on social media. There was also a private video of the two, caught in the act while betraying their marriage.

These compromising materials were uploaded on social media but the links were already taken down, said Darlene.

Josie admitted she had long suffered because of his infidelity but denied that she was the one behind the video and photo upload.

She saw that he had a gun hidden behind his back during the confrontation. He later destroyed her gadgets, including her laptop.

This made her realize that he would have no qualms in killing her. Feeling unsafe in her own home, she made a dash for freedom when she had the chance.

She escaped with the help of her friend Darlene. They obtained a barangay protection order so the governor will be barred from going anywhere near her.

Just like in the movies, they abandoned the black Toyota Fortuner and rode a motorcycle to Naga City, traveling for two hours. She then bought a second hand car they used to drive to Manila, in fear that riding a plane could quickly reveal their intended location to her husband.

Once in Manila, she hired Atty. Lorna Kapunan as lawyer and sought protection to ensure her husband could not kill her. Kapunan was with them when they revealed the real situation on live TV, with the hosts of Umagang Kay Ganda.
