Every demographic on the planet is guilty of bandwagon jumping in some level, and some Filipinos are very good at it! It started as a way of women showing how much transformation one undergoes thanks to make up. Men have however jumped into this bandwagon and taken it to a whole new level. #MakeupTransformation became a trend on social media especially on photo-sharing sites like Instagram and Facebook. This so-called #MakeupTransformations literally turn someone into brand-new people with a little contouring.

I think some were funny like #7, 10, 14 and 17 but the rest were dumb. And yeah, pinoys turn everything into a joke while others take makeup transformation seriously. They’ll even call you killjoy and has lack of sense of humor. What they don’t know that not every joke is funny.

That’s what’s good about us Filipinos, we enjoy every bit of fun the social world gives us, even the ones you find “stupid”. We always find ways to smile given all the things that happened in our country(typhoons, corruption). Maybe that’s why some of us find ways to be happy as distractions through all these things. The point is we’re happy so leave us alone with your judgmental personality. Not a butthurt Filipino, just saying you guys should know our side. We’re not stupid we’re just easily enjoyed by things and that’s why we follow trends, we’re not like you whoever you are.

This is only funny if done right, like what Bogart and the guy who did Loki did. Unfortunately, a lot of these fail to capture the humor that transformations should have. From what I noticed, the third frame is key – when you botch that one, the humor is lost.
