10 Most Popular Pinoy Urban Legends Still Being Told

7. Bongbong Marcos is actually a Clone??

BongBongLegend

Rumor has it that  Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr, the Senator we see today, is not the  real Bongbong which is known to be the only son of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos and First Lady Imelda Marcos.  According to stories, the person we are seeing today in the senate is a “clone” because the real Bongbong is already dead. Different versions of the account surfaced. One tells that he has been stabbed by his classmate and the body was never returned in the Philippines. Next says he got killed in a road accident, and the last claims he was kidnapped and killed by rebel armies in Mindanao. The story goes on that the First Lady convinced her nephew to  undergo surgery and replace Bongbong’s part in the family.

Story Check

This story is believed to be of political nature. The Martial Law and dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos scared people that they knew it’s possible for his power and throne to be passed to the First Lady Imelda, then eventually to their only son Bongbong. So, if proven that the legend is true, that Bongbong is really a clone, then the dynasty will be cut short, knowing that the Marcos’ daughters have different interests aside from being a president.
