Couple Ice Seguerra and Liza Diño have started in-vitro fertilization in order to have their own baby.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, January 24, Diño said that Seguerra, who came out as transgender five years ago, underwent egg retrieval as a part of the first phase of the process.
Fortunately, they were able to harvest three eggs from the singer.
“Ice, still groggy from the anesthesia after the egg retrieval process, finally opens his eyes and the first thing he says is ‘I’m hungry!’ Yup, he’s awake na nga!
“Successful procedure! Thank you, Lord. They were able to harvest three good eggs from Ice.”
She has also said that she will serve as a surrogate to the baby.
In 2016, Seguerra said that they had to postpone their plan of going through in-vitro fertilization due to the expensive procedures.
“Baka hindi matuloy this year ang IVF namin ni Liza dahil bukod sa hindi kami makaalis nang matagal, medyo mahal ang magagastos at hindi kami handang maglabas ng ganoong kalaking halaga.”
They have tied the knot in a private ceremony in California last December 2014.
Have you ever felt like you’ve been coughing so much that you’re gonna cough out a part of your lungs? Well, turns out that it can actually happen.
A man from California who was admitted to the intensive care unit because of a heart failure was coughing so severely that he managed to hack up piece of his right bronchial tree.
The unidentified patient’s case was written in the New England Journal of Medicine. He was receiving treatment at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center.
In the span of one week, the patient has been coughing with phlegm and blood and during an extreme attack, he coughed out part of his lungs.
According to the case report’s authors, “The right bronchial tree consists of three segmental branches in the upper lobe, two segmental branches in the middle lobe, and five segmental branches in the lower lobe.
“The patient’s trachea was subsequently intubated, and flexible bronchoscopy revealed a small amount of blood in the basilar branches of the right lower lobe.”
He was extubated two days later with no further instances of coughing out blood, however, he died a week later due to heart failure.

A California surfer Daron Case was surfing at Silver Strand State Beach in the Coronado Cays when a gray whale swam right by all of the surfers and his GoPro camera captured footage of his close encounter. The video shows an unexpected visitor — an estimated of 20-foot gray whale.
Seeing a whale while surfing is not unusual for Case but seeing one at this time of the year is, he explained. Gray whales migrate south for the winter, which is what Case thinks this one was doing, but they usually don’t head south until November.
Meanwhile, the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography said the whale in the video may have been ill. “We believe the whale is sick mostly due to its thinness. A secondary indicator would be the number of barnacles, which can suggest that the whale is traveling rather slowly,” the aquarium said in a statement.12
A total of 4,500 pirated DVDs with a value of over US$90,000 were confiscated by LASD from F.L.B. Video Pinoy, together with a computer, external hard drives, a disc burner and a burner tower, among others, to duplicate DVDs illegally for rent or for sale at US$10 apiece. A fifth of the seized DVDs were films and TV shows from ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema and TFC.
The said center on Santa Fe Avenue is a hub for Filipinos living in the City of Long Beach as it has an oriental supermarket, cargo and money remittance services, and restaurants serving Filipino and Asian food, among others. F.L.B. Video Pinoy, which is a retail store offering media and telecommunications-based subscription services and pirated DVDs, was benefitting from the traffic of Filipino customers that flows into the area.
“I would say that this is a mid-level distribution and manufacturing. But we can’t be deceived by the small mom and pop type of shop because the amount of parts you can mass produce in a very short period of time is really incredible,” said Kris Buckner, president of Investigative Consultants (IC).
A Filipina described by investigators as a co-owner of the store was arrested during the raid while an arrest warrant was issued for the store’s owner, Fernando Legaspi Bernabe, who ran and lost for the Long Beach City Council four years ago. Both are facing felony charges.
The store has floor to ceiling metal shelves offering miscellaneous illegal DVDs including ABS-CBN titles for sale.
“You know it’s fake because the images on the cover are weird and there are typos in the print. Then when you open it, there’s a purple glow on the back of the DVDs,” explained LASD Deputy Chris Figueroa.
This is the third Filipino business raid this year for alleged DVD piracy in Southern California. ABS-CBN has partnered with law enforcement and investigators to step up its anti-piracy campaigns throughout the world in 2014 to ensure that the content that is distributed, whether in DVD or digital form, is the best experience for its customers. Moreover, the company combats piracy as it is a known to finance other criminal activities, including terrorism, and it also impacts detrimentally the industry workers and communities.
