Ogie Diaz pushes Erwin Tulfo for vice president in 2028

For now, Ogie’s push remains his personal endorsement, while Erwin Tulfo has publicly maintained that he has no plans to seek a position beyond the Senate.

Showbiz insider and talent manager Ogie Diaz has revealed that Sen. Erwin Tulfo is the personality he wants to see run for vice president in the 2028 elections.

On the latest episode of ‘Showbiz Updates’ on Friday, August 14, Ogie greeted Tulfo, who celebrated his 63rd birthday on August 10, while openly expressing his support for a possible 2028 vice-presidential bid.

“Pinu-push kong tumakbong Vice President. Wa echos,” Ogie said.

According to Ogie, his support stems from his personal experience working with Tulfo for four years on a morning show. He said he witnessed the senator’s generosity toward people seeking assistance, including members of the production team.

“Broadcaster pa lang ’yan, nauubos na ang pera niyan sa katutulong,” he said, adding that people would line up to ask Tulfo for help.

Ogie also recalled seeing Tulfo personally reach into his own pocket to assist those in need, saying this was one of the reasons he believed the senator could take on a higher political position.

Despite Ogie’s endorsement, however, Tulfo himself has repeatedly said that he and his brother, Sen. Raffy Tulfo, intend to serve only in the Senate.

In a previous interview in May, Erwin said, “Ang plano lang po namin [ni Sen. Raffy], hanggang dito lang talaga po kami sa Senado.”

The statement came after the names of the Tulfo brothers appeared among the personalities being considered in early preference surveys for the 2028 presidential elections.
