Netizens correct Blogger Ilda Ignacio over a misleading tweet about Aika Robredo

Asked by a netizen whether she felt humiliated after the tweet.

In a now-deleted tweet, Ignacio excitedly shared a screenshot of the tweet made by Aika Robredo back in 2016.

In a now deleted tweet, Aika Robredo acknowledged on September 16 at 11:50 am, six years ago, even before BBM decided to run for president, that she was in the sex video. She should have corrected her mother Leni after the latter accused BBM of being the mastermind behind the video,” Ignacio said in her caption.

Another social media personality, @IAmCharotism, shared a screenshot of Ignacio’s now-deleted tweet, ”In a now-deleted Tweet, Ilda showed us that she is not aware of #EveryWoman campaign last 2016 in support of Sen. Leila De Lima. Charot!” his tweet reads.

The said tweet, which Ilda mistook as the young Robredo’s admission of the fake sex video that recently surfaced on the Internet–was [actually] part of a social media campaign #EveryWoman. To empathize with Senator Leila de Lima, who then was a similar victim of a doctored sex video, the campaign was promoted by women and netizens.

The Get Real Philippines owner and author Ignacio, whose anti-Robredo sentiments have been all over her twitter timeline, seemingly got excited when she shared the now-deleted tweet of Aika Robredo, where she said “I would like to testify in the HOR (House of Representatives). It was me on the sex video. #EveryWoman.

“Why did Aika delete this tweet if it was a harmless hashtag?” Ignacio asked again.

Ignacio, however, failed to understand the context behind the tweet and the hashtag used by Robredo, as she hastily shared the deleted tweet. #EveryWoman was a widespread social media campaign, in which several female figures, including broadcaster Ces Oreña Drilon, former Benigno Aquiino III’s spokesperson, Abi Valte, and actress Agot Isidro took part in 2016.

In her follow-up tweet, she admitted her mistake but called out netizens for having a double standard.

Leni supporters are outraged I mistook Aika’s old tweet for the issue about her alleged sex video but are ok with Leni blatantly accusing BBM of being the mastermind behind it even without proof. They were also ok with Raissa Robles mistaking it was BBM’s son on the sex video,” she said.

Asked by a netizen whether she felt humiliated after the tweet.

She said, “I don’t get affected when people point out my mistakes. I deleted the tweet because it was wrong. My question is, why did Aika delete her tweet if it was unrelated to the recent sex video linking her? And why is it ok for Aika to delete a post but not ok when I do it? #Hypocrites

Ilda Ignacio is the owner and author of Get Real Philippines. On her Twitter bio, she said that she “… writes because I want to understand things.
