Chris Tiu has voiced his support for his ‘iBilib’ co-host, Shaira Diaz, and her decision to practice celibacy with her longtime boyfriend, EA Guzman.
Tiu’s endorsement came during their appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ on Friday, May 17, where they discussed the couple’s commitment to abstaining from sex before marriage.
Diaz and Guzman made headlines earlier this year when they revealed that they had maintained sexual abstinence throughout their 11-year relationship. Tiu, who shares similar beliefs with his wife, Clarisse Ong, commended Diaz’s decision.
“I agree with Shaira. I am also very Catholic, and I get my guidance from my parents as well,” Tiu stated. “Same thing with my wife. We believe that you should save your most intimate self for your partner, the one that you have chosen to spend the rest of your life with, with the union blessed by God.”
Diaz reiterated that her choice to stay celibate until marriage is a personal decision rooted in her desire to honor her parents and adhere to Biblical teachings. “Ako gusto ko talaga dahil naniniwala ako at ino-honor ko talaga po ‘yung mga binigay kong salita sa magulang ko, ‘yung mga binigay nila sa aking advice. And siyempre sa Bible rin po. ‘Yun naman talaga, na dapat walang ganito before marriage,” she explained.
The ‘Unang Hirit’ host also made it clear that she does not judge others who choose differently. “Wala talaga akong against sa mga gumagawa noon. Siguro sa akin talaga choice ko talaga na gusto ko na i-save ‘yon sa pagkakasal namin,” she said.
Diaz and Guzman, who have been together since 2013, announced earlier this year that they have been engaged since 2021 and plan to marry in 2026.

Chris Tiu and Clarisse Ong, who married in 2013 in Vancouver, Canada, share similar values. They have two children together.
