Sue Ramirez: Owning Her Time beneath the Spotlight

Her first taste in acting is via the 2011 remake of Mula Sa Puso, but she has to wait several more years before taking on a lead role.

Love her or hate her. The time is right for Sue Ramirez to soar in her career as she takes on her undoubtedly most important role to date.

As one of the main antagonists in the now widely-talked about TV series, The Broken Marriage Vow, Ramirez certainly gets strong reactions for her character. She receives harsh comments or even ends up hated. But that should not cause any alarm, or should it be?

Many great actors can effectively pull off villain roles.

So far, based on the responses, Ramirez is doing a great job.

That said, her portrayal of Lexy, David’s (Zanjoe Marudo) another woman, also earns the 25-year-old Kapamilya actress critical acclaim, and she certainly deserves it.

Sue Anna Garina Dodd[ in real life, has navigated her career from a humble start in 2011.

Her first taste in acting is via the 2011 remake of Mula Sa Puso, but she has to wait several more years before taking on a lead role.

In 2017, Ramirez was Arjo Atayde’s leading lady for the afternoon series, Hanggang Kailan, which was later on adapted on Turkish TV. It’s in the same year that she headlined her first starring film, The Debutantes by Regal Entertainment.

The following year, she starred in IdeaFirst Company’s Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wi-fi, playing the title role and opposite Jameson Blake. In 2020, she was in major roles in the ABS-CBN series, A Soldier’s Heart, and in the TV5 sitcom, Oh My Dad!

With The Broken Marriage Vow, Ramirez boldly makes a shift from what she has been used to doing. Her character is not necessarily evil and loaded with much anger, but her position as the show’s main antagonist is an interesting detour from her teenybopper, modest, and morally upright roles. It’s a shift that demands talent, grace, and commitment, at the same time. Is she succeeding in this effort?

Maybe you need to keep tabs online on the high praises for her stellar performance on the show. Let’s not forget too, that Lexy Lucero has just begun, which means we may need to brace ourselves for more blood pressure-rising confrontations and betrayals on the show.

Her ascension to where she is now–is of no doubt the fruit of the incredible work she has pulled in the last decade of her career. She is poised to soar further with the much attention she’ll very likely get from her home Network and more producers.

As Lexy Lucero, she owns her time beneath the spotlight, proving she deserves it and that this is just the beginning of her climb through the proverbial ladder of success.
