Ivana Alawi doesn’t like it when diabetes-stricken sister Mona shows signs of giving up

Mona is only 16 but has been through a lot already, Ivana explained as she held back tears

Ivana Alawi along with her younger sister Mona and brother Hashim got emotional in her latest vlog where they ask each other questions they’ve never asked before.

It was supposed to be a fun and entertaining video, but things got a little sadder when it was Mona’s turn to ask her siblings what attitude she has that irritates them the most.

Ivana’s facial expression became more serious and praised her little sister’s will to fight.

“Hindi kasi, si Moawana, siya ‘yung type na person na sobrang lakas niya,” she said.

Ivana was referring to Mona’s constant visit to the hospital ever since she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2011.

Mona is only 16 but has been through a lot already, Ivana explained as she held back tears.

Ang dami niyang pinagdadaanan, na kahit ako, lagi kong sinasabi, ang dami kong pinagdaanan na experiences pero si Mona, mas marami siyang pinagdaanan kasi she’s been through pain at a young age, ‘di ba? And she’s been through so much.”

In response to Mona’s question, Ivana said her little sister has lately been showing signs of giving up and she doesn’t like that.

Mona is a fighter at the end of the day, but fighters can only do so much, which is exactly her situation today.

Hindi naman siya naggi-give up na ‘yung dumarating sa alam n’yo na. Pero parang naaano lang siya, she’s losing hope na to become normal and to feel normal,” Ivana said.

Her advice to Mona is to “always pray and we’re here for you and gagaling ka and you will be better.”

Nagbigay din si Ivana ng mensahe sa kapatid. Aniya, “always pray and we’re here for you and gagaling ka and you will be better.”
