The actor has been active in criticizing the shortcomings of the government. He took to Twitter to express his disappointment.

After Sen. Cynthia Villar’s ‘insensitive’ reply to the medical frontliners’ plea for stricter quarantine, Jake then expressed his sympathy and gratitude towards frontliners.

He also pleaded with the government to give importance to frontliners and prioritize their needs.

“Give our health care worker/frontliners what they need. Their needs should be prioritized,” he said.

The actor also slammed Cynthia Villar’s statement saying, “Maam wag natin baliwalain ang trabahong ginagawa ng mga health care workers natin, sila nga ang nag bubuwis buhay para satin lahat ngayon pandemia. Dapat silang pasalamatan.”

However, a netizen replied to his tweet and agreed with Villar’s statement. The netizen blamed the artists for not ‘feeling’ what ordinary Filipinos do.

In response, Jake showed the netizen how they have helped frontliners using their own savings.

“Yes savings that we also use to help our frontliners, Kapamilyas and other Filipinos who are in need. Rather than trolling maybe you should put your energy into helping other people instead,” Jake said.

The said netizen then responded with an irrelevant statement which totally confused Jake.
