Karla Estrada cries foul over arrest of San Roque protesters

Karla Estrada tweeted about the sudden arrest of individuals demanding food from the government.

  • She said that these people should be given compassion and understanding as they are not privileged enough to be able to save some food during the enhanced community quarantine.

Celebrity mom and television host Karla Estrada tweeted her frustrations about the arrest of around 20 residents of Barangay San Roque in Quezon City after they conducted a protest for food packs from the government.

Estrada wrote.

On April 1, militant group Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) condemned the arrest of the Quezon City citizens.

He also questioned why the police had to arrest the protesters when they’re only looking for food from the government as they are starving. He asked where the Php275 billion fund was allotted and distributed.

The arrested individuals, composed of 14 male and six female residents, were brought to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District for the filing of charges against them.
