“Flex ko si mama ko.” Netizen proudly posts about his mother’s heartwarming gesture

• A student shared his mother’s touching effort just to make sure he won’t starve in school.
• He said that he forgot his lunch at home and his mom ran all the way to the bus stop barefooted just to hand him over his meal.

Seventeen-year-old Carmelo John Dela Cruz found his post going viral on Facebook after sharing his mom’s heartwarming action.

He was rushing to leave home early to beat the traffic and arrive at his school, Lucrecia Kasilag Senior High School, on time. He was surprised to see his mom trailing behind him barefoot.

In his post, he “flexed” about his mom’s actions. Carmela Dela Cruz, 53-years-old, ran barefoot from their house, crossed a footbridge along Mindanao Avenue, Quezon City, and made her way to the drop-off area for the jeepneys and buses. She did this to deliver her son’s lunch, containing hotdog and embutido.

“Laking gulat ko nalang na si mama tumatakbo sa overpass sa dala yung baon kong ulam at di na nakapag tsinelas man lang dahil sa pag mamadali para lang di ako magutom sa school at imagine ang layo ng tinakbo ni mama mula sa bahay namin hanggang sa sakayan,” Carmelo wrote in the post.

He added that his mom forgot to wear slippers as she was rushing to reach her son, afraid he might get hungry during lunch break.

Carmelo added that he is really close to his mom as he has never even met his dad. He posted about the heartwarming gesture because he was really touched and it made him realize all the sacrifices that his mom did for him.

The student also encouraged other people to make their mothers feel all the love they deserve.

“At sana everyday iparamdam nila sa kanilang mga nanay na mahal nila tas pag may maganda nang trabaho sikapin ibalik sa nanay at tatay nila yung sacrifies.”
